Lock It Up

My lock of the week is Baltimore over Buffalo the other option is New Orleans over Cleveland, but the Saints lost that game to Arizona a couple weeks ago which was pretty sketchy.

Stay far away from the Tampa Bay St. Louis game. If I had to I would bet on the Rams. Josh Freeman has shown some good quarterback play for the Bucs and it could easily go their way if they could get their running game going but that won't happen since they're leaning on a guy with two surgically repaired knees!

  1. I declare the Rams to be "Linzer lock of the week"!

The Rams have taken everyone by surprise this year. The emergence of unproven QB Kurt Warner following Trent Green's injury is the stuff of legend, and the Rams offense has proven to be almost unstoppable this season. The Ram offense, consisting of Marshall Faulk (arguably the best dual-threat back ever), Holt, Bruce, and the gutsy Ricky Proehl along with one of the best O-Lines in football has dominated. The Rams' defense is solid but unspectiacular. It has certainly done enough to win games.

On the other side of the ball the Bucs Defense can be compared to some of history's greats. They have Defensive MVP Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, DB's John Lynch, Donnie Abraham, and Ronde Barber. They are faster than anyone else and almost never miss a tackle. If anyone can stop the Rams offense, it is the Bucs D.

I think the difference will ultimately come down to the Buc's offense which features the odious Shaun King and Mike Alstott and plays just well enough not to lose.

I predict this is going to be a defensive struggle but that the Rams Defense will play well enough to win. I just don't think that the Bucs offense has enough weapons to win this game. I wouldn't be surprised if an x-factor like Proehl ends up being the difference maker.

    Prediction:

    Rams 11 - Bucs 6.
