Lock It Up

Even though Tsonga just beat Federer in historic comeback fashion after being down two sets, I'm going with Djokovic to win their Wimbledon Semi-Final match.

Flawless Thoughts

I knew that Armageddon wasn't upon us in May because Nadal and Federer still have to face each other in seventeen more Grand Slam Finals.

If your last name is Johnson and you're not a professional athlete, you're part of the smallest percentile of people with that last name.

I just read that all of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' home game broadcasts were blacked out due to poor attendance last year, maybe they should build an ugly, boring, waste of a billion dollars, grey stadium, those seem to be sold out all the time.

I don't get it, so when they left the house on their way to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals they said to eachother, "don't forget, let's bring gasoline and homemade firebombs just in case they lose"? Who does that?

Lock It Up

I'm taking a break from the close games and moving on to serious locks to try and catch up with "Mathew" who is sitting on his lead. Djokovic over Anderson in the second round of Wimbledon, the unranked Anderson has no chance, that's what I call a "lock" !

"Who owns the Mets?" and "who the Mets will trade?" are bigger topics in sports news currently than how they're playing, maybe that's why the stadium is empty.

So pretty much everyone involved with televised college sports rakes in boat loads of cash except for the athletes playing the games? Awesome, that makes total sense.

I'm new to fantasy baseball but if you put a SP,RP in an RP slot, why should his Starting stats be included as well as his Relief stats? Isn't that kind of a loop hole? or is it just part of the game?

Thanks a lot NFL, no off-season means I'm paying way too much attention to fantasy baseball.

Lock It Up

I'm gonna go ahead and take the Canucks over the Bruins tonight in game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals. Though Luongo has seemed like Lebrongo in Boston, he will be his normal self back home with his crowd chanting "Lu", it's going to be an instant classic that may go to overtime!

We all cheered the Mavs winning for a lot of reasons, no doubt Lebron losing was one of them for most fans. But let's remember, when was the last time an NBA season and playoffs were so important to casual sports fans? Last year there was a game seven between the two most storied franchises in the league, and there was less excitement than there was for the 2011 Finals. No matter how many fantasy teams you have, the reality is that this is entertainment, and for entertainment to be most exciting there must be a great villain, so say what you will about Lebron and his team, but I'll be thanking them for making this NBA season so exciting, and for making my friends and family watch and discuss basketball, you see the NBA is back, and whether you like it or not Lebron's villainous turn has helped bring it there.

Dan Gilbert (Cavs Owner) tweeting that there are "no shortcuts" in response to the Heat losing, is just another example of how classless he is, I can see why he didn't get a courtesy call from Lebron before "The Decision". Also...what shortcut? Is being a free agent and going to a new team a shortcut? It's not like the Heat even have as high of a payroll as the 2nd highest team on the list which happens to be the Mavs.

I'll take the Yanks tonight over the Red Sux. I'm not completely confident as they lost last night and Tex is probably out, but I'm going to the game so..... Hip Hip Jorge!!

Flawless Thoughts

All in one day on Sunday, June 5th we saw arguably the best tennis players ever (Nadal & Federer), the best closer in baseball ever (Rivera), one of the best shortstops of all time (Jeter), the greatest NASCAR drivers ever (Gordon, Johnson), and arguably four of the top basketball players of all time (James, Wade, Nowitzki, Kidd). A wild day in sports it was.

The Heat-Mavericks series is nothing short of the best entertainment on television, half of that can be attributed to Magic's suits.

Stallworth spent 24 days in jail after killing a guy. Plax gets 2 years for shooting himself in the leg, that makes a ton of sense.

I'll never understand public opinion when it comes to pro sports - Vick goes to jail for running a dog killing camp, comes back and is a favorite player among fans (except for PETA members, of course); Lebron hosts a live TV show to air his decision on where he will sign a new contract and donates the money made from that program to The Boys & Girls Club, and every sports fan hates him.

Lock It Up

I'm taking the Nucks over the Bruins in game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals tonight in Vancouver. The Bruins team is lucky to be in the finals with their sketchy power play work and the home ice advantage in this series will be big for Vancouver if for nothing else than the distance from Boston.
