The Theoretical House... (Lock it up!)

Last year, our good friend Quaz Flawless (aka Quaz Beck, aka Josh Beck) was so amped up on those Saints going for a repeat, he publicly declared "I would bet the house that the Saints beat the Seahawks." Just in case any of you forgot how that turned out, the 7-9 Division winning Seahawks upset the defending champs 41-36 on a run by Marshawn Lynch that will certainly go down as one of the greatest runs in NFL playoff history. Well... why should this year be any different from last! Last week my all too predictable friend declared that the Steelers would beat Tebow and the Broncos hands down, and of course, the house was on the line again.

In a rather histerical facebook post, his wife hereby banned him from ever betting the "theoretical house" on any sporting event ever again. If those houses were in fact real, and not theoretical, they would be down 2 houses. Luckily that can't stop me from doing it so in his honor... here we go!

If I was a gamblin' man, I'd take out the deed to the house and put it on the Ravens -9 over the Texans. The Texans are in the playoffs for the first time, and unfortunately are down to their 3rd string QB. I think the Ravens defense is going to prove a little too much for the inexperienced Yates to handle and the Ravens win fairly convincingly.

For the rest of the games, I'm going a little lock crazy and picking all dogs!

Giants +9 @ GB
Broncos +14 @ NE
and...
49ers +4 vs NO

The Giants played GB down to the final seconds in their last meeting, and I believe this week are a better team than they were week 13. Flashbacks of a Super Bowl run in 2007/08 may also be clouding my vision, but hey I'm allowed to be a homer... right? The Broncos will be without Decker and Dawkins which I think spells doom, but I still think Tebow wills this game to be a close one and they lose by 13 and cover. As for the 49ers, I just can't resist taking the home dog. Yes the Saints are on a roll, but the 9ers have been bad for so long and are going to be hungry. Harbaugh had them playing with a purpose and a big loss at home is highly unlikely.
